Ms. Lee studied in an English Schools Foundation in Hong Kong and moved to the UK to study her GCSEs at an independent school before moving to a Sixth Form college followed by a Russell Group University. She has first-hand experience of being an international student living in a boarding school and living with host families. Whilst at King's College London (KCL), Ms. Lee was a student representative for the Life Science department and represented KCL at the University of London Union (ULU).
Before founding James-Lee Consultancy, Ms. Lee worked for several blue chip pharmaceutical companies such as Roche, GlaxoSmithKline and Takeda UK spanning over ten years, as first a Clinical Research Associate and later a Global Project Manager in Clinical Research. She has written articles on 'Best Practices' in Clinical Research as well as numerous protocols on how to carry out clinical trials. Ms. Lee is a mother of two and has a daughter at a selective independent school in London. She has been active in the local community as a school governor and has promoted several literacy initiatives. Ms. Lee has acted as a guardian for over ten years and has placed many students at prestigious boarding and day schools as well as Russell Group universities. She has tutored students to A-level standard and successfully aided students in gaining scholarships at prestigious UK boarding schools.
Ms. Junia Ho commenced her career with a series of well-known international companies, including Hong Kong Industrial Co. (now known as Mattel Toys), Toppan Moore (HK) Ltd. and Burson Marsteller (HK) Ltd., she worked in managerial role which expanded over 20 years involving in-depth personal experience in Human Resources, Administration, Public Relations Management, and Training. Ms. Ho attained her Masters of Business Administration Degree in 1990/91 from the University of Santa Barbara California, USA. In 2005, she also attended the certificate programme on Family Therapy and self-studied on Early Child Education.
Relybase Consultants Ltd. was established 1989 and the company provides Management Solutions, PR, Training and Counselling as well as organising and supporting services to the multinational and local companies. Ms. Ho also established Relybase Training & Coaching Centre at the same time to run specific training programmes for the working adults and teenagers.
Since 1992, Ms. Ho has been running the Super-Teen Training Camp for Teenagers aged 12 -20. She has also developed new programmes on “Super-Teaching with Brain-Based Technology” and “Leadership Development Programme” for Principals and Teachers, Programmes for Parents, and two school-based Training Programmes, namely “Effective Study Methods” and “Empowering Secondary School Students to Accelerated English Learning “ for students.
Over the years, the Hong Kong Government has also appointed Ms. Ho to sit in a number of Standing Committee, including Committee on Promotion of Civil Education and the Commission on Youth, the Transport Advisory Committee, Social Worker’s Registration Board, Road Safety Campaign Committee; and Member of Employees’ Retraining Board. Currently, she is a Council Member of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and Hong Kong Awards for Young People, Fund –Raising Committee Member of the Dragon Foundation., Member of Municipal Services Appeals Board, Member of the Standing Committee On Language and Research (SCOLAR), Steering Committee Member of the Youth Development Building, Member of the Witness Protection Review Board; Member of the Railway Objections Hearing Panel, and Council Member of the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund.
In recognition to Ms. Ho’s public contributions, she was awarded the Badge of Honor in 1995 and appointed a Justice of the Peace in 1996. Apart from Hong Kong Government, Ms. Ho has also been awarded the Senatorship (A lifetime membership of Junior Chamber International) in 1982, and Hon Life President of Bauhinia Junior Chamber in 1999.
Mr. James holds a degree in Accounting, Management and Finance. He has been a guardian and host family for over ten years. Kenneth is a father of two with a daughter at a selective independent school in London. He has experience in tutoring students in Business Studies and Economics and has managed exponentially increase student marks by one or two grades. He specialises in advising students on subject and course selection.
Ximena has a Masters in Applied Linguistics for the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). She is also a TEFL instructor, teacher trainer and educational researcher with over 15 years of experience in the Education industry. Ximena has experience in coordinating both EFL and language teacher education programmes and has worked with different target populations ranging from children and teenagers to university students and adults. Her academic background includes specialised publications on language teaching related issues and she is currently developing doctoral studies in Education.
Michelle is a teaching assistant and a mother of three children. She is responsible for line managing the Guardian Local Coordinators and allocating host families to students. As a Welfare Manager, she ensures all the students are happy and safe.
Annie has a Masters in Human Resource Management which she obtained from King's College London. She completed her undergraduate in English and Business Management in China and Liverpool, UK. Having been an international student herself, she understands the real need of her peers and the younger students and wants to help them get the best experience in UK.
Marco has completed his A-levels at Uppingham School and is reading Linguistics at UCL. He has experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language to primary school and junior secondary school English teachers in Mainland China, and will also be pursuing a TEFL degree next year. As a Student Services Assistant, he assists with the office administrative duties and carry out the initial telephone interviews on Host Family applicants.
Sharon is currently completing her Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at UCL (Institute of Education). She is also completing her Masters in Linguistics at Shanghai International Studies University in tandem with her UK Masters. For Sharon's first degree, she obtained a First Class honours in English Literature. At JLC, Sharon is responsible for writing informative articles and updates for parents, students, and partners as well as helping with the Chinese social media management.
