Dear Parents,

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads through the globe and affecting everyone's lives, we'd like to share the actions we are taking to minimise disruption and keep our customers, colleagues and loved ones safe. 


Currently, more nurseries, schools, universities and language schools are closing their campuses and taking classes online.

Any students who are still in the U.K., we can assist with your accommodation at a host family home or assist with them going back home.  Parents, I know it’s difficult but please consider both risks and ultimately, the decision is yours and we respect and will support you.

Our work

At James-Lee, our guardianship team have been continuously supporting the UK boarding students and the parents in face of the coronavirus pandemic by: 

  • Keeping every party well-informed, either based locally and overseas, with the latest guidelines provided by the UK government, Public Health England, Boarding Schools’ Association, and AEGIS

  • Communicating on a daily basis through various social media such as Facebook Live, Whatsapp, We Chat, and other channels to ensure that one is with adequate knowledge and clarity with every decision and action taken 

  • Liaising with the schools and their boarding houses closely to inquire into most updated information, in addition to any suspected cases on campus or regionally, in order to help further reinforce any health and safety measures

  • Organising transportation arrangements for those who have decided to leave the schools to fly back home, and checking through all procedures including from going through immigration and border control to boarding on the airplanes safely

  • Working actively with the host families and monitoring their progresses in upholding the current guidelines concerning safeguarding and child protection issues in relation to the development of the pandemic 


Our Response

Our primary concern is and always will be, the safety, health and well-being of our students, colleagues, and their loved ones. As such, we are following guidance from the UK Government on the situation to minimise social contact, and where possible our UK colleagues will now be working from home from 23rd March 2020. This will be reviewed weekly and possibly extended. 

There is no doubt this is a trying time for UK-based businesses, but both our Hong Kong office will remain open for business and our UK-colleagues available to contact for both guidance and support during our usual working hours. Our 24-emergency contact number in the UK will also remain in operation whilst we still have students in the UK.

Social Media Accounts

We have recently created a Facebook Group to offer information and advise for parents with children studying in the UK.  How the students can access free resources and ensure that their studies are not disrupted.

We want to remind our parents and students that we have many excellent teachers and tutors, many are Oxbridge graduates, who are eager to help students online.  If you would like us to arrange this, please contact us.
