About the School
Abbey College Cambridge is an independent sixth form day and boarding college which has developed a reputation for academic excellence, and is also one of the three colleges of the Abbey DLD Group of Colleges.
Abbey College Cambridge helps students to achieve outstanding results in A Levels, Foundation and GCSE programmes, in order to enter the UK’s top universities. Therefore, the teaching focuses on examination success, emphasising the acquisition of knowledge, examination technique and thinking skills
Exam Results and University Destinations
In 2021, at GCSE, 25% of the grades were 9, 45% were 9-8, and 65% were 9-7. At A-Level, 43% of the grades were A*, 74% were A*-A, and 93% were A*-B.
In 2021, 65% of the leavers went on to study at Russell Group universities, with 2 of them successfully going on to Cambridge.
Extra-Curricular Activities
They have their unique ‘ABC’ Extra-curricular Programme, which includes Action (physical activities), Belonging (making contributions), and Creativity (bringing inspiration). Students can develop a broad range of interests outside their studies.
Facilities
The new college campus Homerton Gardens were opened in 2016, providing a wide range of learning and leisure facilities, for example, classrooms with interactive teaching technology, specialist laboratories, sports hall, gym, and fair trade coffee bar.
