About the School
Bede’s Senior School is an independent boarding school which is one of the HMC schools.
A Bede’s Diploma is offered to sixth formers as an enrichment programme to bolster any university or job applications. Bede's Legat Dance Academy is also developed to help talented and passionate dancers to pursue a career in dance.
There are currently approximately 300 students boarding at the 5 boarding houses, with one of the boarding houses newly established in September 2022.
Exam Results and University Destinations
In 2022, at GCSE, 45% of the grades were 9-7. At A-Level, 47% of the grades were A*-A.
In 2022, some of the popular university destinations included University of Warwick, University of Birmingham, University of Sheffield, and University of Bristol.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Over 100 clubs and activities are offered to students, from wake-boarding to photography, scuba diving to Duke of Edinburgh Awards, and baking to history film club.
Facilities
There is the Bede’s Zoo in the campus with over 70 different species, offering valuable learning opportunities for students studying BTEC Animal Management course, and those participating in the Zoological Society. In 2020, the Bede’s Zoo has also become an Educational Associate with the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA).
