About the School

Mayfield School is a Leading Catholic independent boarding and day School. They are a happy school and aim to embed a deep love of learning. 

Mathematics and the sciences are among the most popular and successful subjects and both GCSE and A Level. Innovate sessions are offered to help students get hands on with emerging technologies.

Exam Results and University Destinations

In 2021, at GCSE, 87% of the grades were 9-7 and 100% were 9-4. At A Level, 52% of the grades were A*, 79% were A*-A, and 94% were A*-B.

In 2021, popular university destinations included Durham University, Imperial College London, and University of Exeter. One leaver successfully gained a place at the University of Cambridge.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The Equestrian Squad of Mayfield wins frequently in show jumping, dressage and eventing classes, both as a team and on an individual basis. They win more national titles than any other school.

The ‘Actions not Words’ Programme also provides students with opportunities to be involved in service both in the local community and further afield.

Facilities

The Ceramics Studio in Mayfield is said to be among the best in Europe, offering extensive facilities for research, experimentation and practical work.

The purpose built Equestrian Centre on site at the School also allows students to stable their horses and have them cared for by the staff.
