About the School
The Mount School York is a day and boarding school based in the heart of York. Students are encouraged and empowered to pursue not only academic excellence, but also skills, ambition and courage to succeed in everything, without gender stereotypes.
The Global Thinking programme is also designed to teach students about world issues around them, and to develop their awareness and confidence to the world, getting them ready to lead and make contributions in the future.

Exam Results and University Destinations
In 2021, at GCSE, 60% of the grades were 9-8, and 81% were 9-7. At A-Level, 67% of the grades were A*-A, and 87% were A*-B.
In 2021, popular university destinations included Durham, University College London, Manchester, London School of Economics, Edinburgh and York for a diverse range of courses including Veterinary Medicine, English Literature, Geography, Finance and Biochemistry.
Extra-Curricular Activities
A varied schedule of activities is offered including but not limited to badminton, netball, Duke of Edinburgh Award, ceramics, cookery, clarinet group, and charity.
Facilities
To create a better learning environment and greater freedom for Sixth Formers, there are purpose built Sixth Form facilities such as shared study rooms for two or three students, workspace, and a common room with kitchen facilities.
