About the School

Downe House School’s aim has always been to nurture girls to play a full and positive part as a citizen of the global community and as an outstanding woman of the future in a campus without any gender-stereotypes.

To provide a global outlook to the girls, all Year 8 girls will spend a term in France to have a unique learning and living experience at Downe House Sauveterre. The Upper School and Sixth Form will also have the opportunity to take part in the far-reaching Global Student Exchange Programme with 16 partner schools across six continents. Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is one of the notable alumni.

Most students are full boarders and there are 10 boarding houses divided into three stages including 3 for Lower School, 5 for Upper Schools and 2 for Sixth Form. Specialised care is offered for each stage to meet the very different needs of the girls at each stage of their teenage development.
